54 separate pickings and vinifications, total destemming, automatic selection of single berries by density in sugary solution, alcoholic fermentation in 40-Hl steel tanks for 15 days, 3 days on the lees before taking the wine off the skins. 2 pumpings-over and 3 sinking of skins daily. Malolatic Fermentation 1/3 in contact with skins before racking and 2/3 in 2nd, 3rd and 4th passage French oak barriques. Fining with fresh egg whites, 8 months in 2nd, 3rd and 4th passage French oak barriques; 10 months in cement, no filtration.
Wine Advocate
The entry-level 2008 Le Cupole is beautiful and expressive in its dark red fruit. The 2008 is a mid-weight Cupole, with just a touch less exuberance than the superb 2007, but with just as much personality and sheer character. Silky tannins frame the mineral-laced fruit through to the finish, where the wine's inner sweetness lingers on the close. The Cupole is one of the finest relative values in Tuscan wine, and is a one of my go to choices on restaurant wine lists. This is another fabulous effort from Andrea Franchetti. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2016.

Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.
