Hahn
Deep, bold, brooding and complex, the Hahn Estates Meritage Central Coast 2007 Bordeaux-style blend begins with a rich and full aroma followed by a heightened level of intensity compared to recent vintages.
The varietal blend of this vintage is 31% Merlot, 31% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Petit Verdot, 12% Malbec, and 9% Cabernet Franc. The generous percentage of Petit Verdot and Malbec in the blend add tantalizing depth to the tannic profile, deepen the color in the glass and enhance richness in the midpalate. When given time, notes of citrus, cardamom and blackberry develop as the wine remains smooth and balanced while simultaneously maintaining the multi-dimensional character for which traditional Meritage blends are known. Round, juicy, luscious flavors greet brisk tannins and viscous mouthfeel, making this the perfect wine for strong, savory meats and hearty pasta dishes. Try it with barbecued tri-tip steak or slow-cooked brisket served with Swiss chard and white corn.

Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
