Color: Intensive red.
Nose: Black fruits, blackberry jam, soft spicies.
Mouth: Unctuous, full-flavoured with warm tannins. An incredible lenght typical from the great Chateauneuf du Papes.
Wine Advocate
The 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape Croix de Bois is brilliant. Notes of licorice, seaweed, cedar, and copious black currant and sweet cherry notes are present in the provocative aromatics. Ripe, full-bodied, and dense, with moderately high tannin, terrific concentration, and a deep ruby color, this is a brilliant wine that tips the scales at 16.5% natural alcohol, whereas the 2006 was at 15.3%. Look for the 2005 to hit its peak in 2-3 years and last for 15 or more years.

Wine Spectator
A touch high-toned, with lots of sweet cherry and kirsch fruit up front, this turns darker as it moves along, with a silky texture and lots of currant, fig, graphite and fruitcake flavors emerging on the long, supple finish. Deceptively deep and long, needs to fatten up in the cellar. Best from 2009 through 2025.

Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.
