The 2006 Andolsen Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep purple color with aromas of rich black fruits, cassis and hints of roses and dried herbs. Bright black cherry and black currants on the palate are accentuated by brown spice and mocha leading to a lush mouth-feel supported by tannins, good structure and tannins and lingering on the long finish.
Wine Advocate
The outstanding 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Andolsen has a small amount of Cabernet Franc in the blend. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by aromas of tobacco leaf, underbrush, white chocolate, black currants, and loamy soil. Fairly-priced for a serious Cabernet Sauvignon from Dry Creek, it should evolve for 12-15+ years.
Score: 90. —Robert Parker, December 2008.Wine Enthusiast
This is an ample Cabernet that impresses for its ripe lushness of fruit. It’s very dry and rich in tannins, with blackberry and herb flavors that are spicy and briary. Big and powerful. Best now–2012.
